Kurri Kurri is a charming town that is famous for its vast vineyards. However, it’s the productive mines in the Hunter Valley Mines that led to the growth of Kurri Kurri. Its name is derived from the Awabakal language which most believe that means the beginning. The town is located 147 kilometres north of Sydney and 38 kilometres west of Newcastle. Kurri Kurri has structured itself to become a hideout for lovebirds who want to have some alone time and adventure. The Kurri Kurri Hotel is a lover’s paradise as it has the most impressive suites; the three stories building was constructed in the 1800s.

Take your picnic next to the wild by having it in the Big Kookaburra and Rotary Park. You also get a chance to watch various species of indigenous birds and other wildlife. The park is also the place where the mural tours begin so it’s quite a spectacular place to be.
